A: You MUST press (& hold a second) the battery Main button first to show the battery level before the unit starts charging the iPhone. The button is designed to be held a little to avoid accidently trigger while it was in a bag or pocket. So, after you connect he iPhone to the mobile unit, press and hold the battery main button to check the battery level, and the unit will start charging the iPhone after the battery level light(s) comes on. And the battery indicator lights remain on during phone charging until you unplug the phone.
Q: What is the red light for? And what is the female 20 pin Apple input port is for?
A: The red light is an indicator that the mobile back up battery is being charged either by solar; an Apple iPhone or car charger. The female 20 pin Apple input port is for the use of iPhone or Car Charger to charge when there is no sun power available or during night time.
Q: How long do I need to charge the battery with sunlight?
A: It depends on the sunlight availability. If you park the car inside a garage, there is no solar; it will make you feel that you need more times to fully charge the battery. Sometimes it will cost average 4-5 days to fully charge the battery due to insufficient sunlight. You can always check the battery level by pressing the main battery button. If you have full sunlight, the solar charging capacity is 180mA/Hour; so, it will take 10-15 hours to fully charge the 2000 mA battery. In addition, you can always use the car phone charger or Home (original) phone/tablet charger to charge the battery beside the solar sunlight.
Q: How many percentages can the battery charge my iPhones/iPods?
A: The embedded battery is full 2000mA lithium battery. So, if your phones/iPods battery has the same or less capacity, the fully charged mobile unit can charge 100% on your iPhones/iPods.
